Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Josie Finch of La Harpe, born February 15, 1997 and grew up in La Harpe, the daughter of Jason and Carrie Finch. Her dad Jason teaches La Harpe Junior High Special Education and is a junior high girls' basketball coach. Her mother Carrie works for La Harpe School District and teaches Pre-K.

Josie has one younger sister Maddie who is a Sophomore at Illini West and and plays volleyball.

Josie's grandparents are Nancy & Greg Walkington of Woodstock, and Patty Finch of Carthage.

Nancy worked for the government while Greg was a teacher and a coach. Patty is just recently retired.

Josie is a member of the National Honor Society at Illini West. She is on Student Council, the Math team, and is an assistant for the La Harpe Junior High girls' basketball team.

Josie is a member of the Lady Charger basketball team that won Regional for three years in a row. She was all-conference in basketball and all-conference in softball. She received an honorable mention for all-state in basketball her junior year at Illini West.

Her favorite trip was going to Myrtle Beach with her whole family for fvacation.

Josie said that during her spare time, she enjoys playing basketball and softball, going to rock concerts and watching Netflix, and after graduation in the spring, she plans on going to college and studying science. Then, she says, "I would love to travel the world!"
