Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Dalton Merry of Carthage.

Dalton was born in Macomb on October 26, 1996, the son of Sheri Merry and Neal Merry of Carthage.

Sheri is employed at the University of Illinois Extension office and Neal is an Illinois State Trooper.

Dalton has one sister, Trisha Merry who attends school at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.

While in high school, Dalton has played football, basketball and track all four years.

Dalton's achievements include being named Football Captain and he set up the disc golf course in Carthage.

He recalls one of his favorite vacation memories as a trip out to California and watching the Nuggets play the Lakers, and he also enjoyed seeing the sights of Hollywood and going to the Pacific coast beaches.

At home in his spare time, Dalton likes to snowboard, hunt and hang out with his friends.

He has worked at the Carthage swimming pool for the last 3 years.

After high school, Dalton plans to attend college.
