The Wisdom Of Barnyard Bruke: Farming Figures

Greetings to ever one in Western Illinois and all readers of The Quill.

I'm a hope'n ya has adjusted some what ta the cooler weather by now. That wind shore dropped the temperatures around here abouts.

They is a talk'n about them northern states gett'n down in the O degree Fahrenheit temperature category. I reckon most of us folk in these parts is not ready fer that yet, but then I guess we'll take it as it comes.

With the election over maybe things will settle down a bit. My neighbor ta the east, Elmer Fudpucker, shared with us fellers about his Uncle Frank who was a lifelong staunch conservative live'n in Chicago. Elmer sez his Uncle Frank was proud of the fact he always voted straight Republican until the day he died, several years back. Since then he has voted Democrat.

Cornelius Farkwad brought in the follow'n information recently. It compared 2 states in middle America, Illinois and Oklahoma.

In Illinois, he sez, one political party has controlled the state fer some time. Some enterest'n data he points out on the "state' of, the State of Illinois is there are more folk on welfare in Illinois than there are people working. Chicago pays the highest wages to teachers than anywhere else in the U.S. Their average pay is $110,000/year. Their pensions average 80-90% of their income.

In the last six months, 292 people were killed (murdered) in Chicago. 221 were killed in Iraq. Chicago has one of the strictest gun laws in the entire U.S.

Chicago's school system is rated one of the worst in the country. Illinois state pension fund is $78 billion in debt, the worst in the country.

Cook County (Chicago) sales tax is 10.25%, the highest in the country. Rob Blagojevich is no longer governor, he is in prison and Representative Jesse Jackson Jr. resigned and he and his wife are both in prison. Some sez this is a special state ta have our representatives and governors make'n our license plates.

Oklahoma is the only state that in the presidential election Obama did not win, even one county.

Oklahoma law passed, 37 ta 9 an amendment ta place The Ten Commandments on the front entrance ta the state capitol. (HB 133D)

The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU said it would be a mistake. Oklahoma did it anyway.

Oklahoma passed a law in the state ta incarcerate all illegal immigrants and ship them back ta where they came from unless they want ta get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. (HB 1804)

Oklahoma passed a law ta include DNA samples from any and all illegals ta the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigation purposes. (SB 1102)

Oklahoma passed a law declare'n Oklahoma as a sovereign state, not under the federal government directives, join'n Texas, Montana, and Utah as the only states ta do so. More states are likely ta follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Carolinas, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi and Florida. (HHR 1003)

The federal government has made bold steps ta take away our guns. Oklahoma passed a law confirming its people have the right ta bear arms and transport them in their vehicles.

Oklahoma has a law that all drivers license exams will be printed in English and only English and no other language. The fact is all its road signs are in English only. If'n ya wants ta drive in Oklahoma, ya must read and write English. Really simple.

The liberals don't like any of this in Oklahoma, Cornelius tells us. The liberals, the feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said each and every Oklahoma law mentioned would be a mistake.

Oklahoma is doing it anyway, Cornelius sez, and that Oklahoma may soon have plenty of new residents.

As fer me and the boys we cain't vouch fer any of what Cornelius pointed out. Maybe he found that info from an unreliable source. It does, however, stimulate a fellers thought process. Maybe with a new governor in Illinois, things will change, but then again, maybe they won't.

Hope ever one had a good Veterans Day an remembers to honor our veterans ever day of the year fer the sacrifices they have made.

Hope'n ta see ya in church this week. Where ever ya is, what ever ya be a do'n, "BE A GOOD ONE".

And by the way, don't take life so seriously ya can't find a little humor here and there, even in politics. Ya only hurts yourself, practice'n be'n a "grump".

Keep on Smile'n

Catch ya later
