At the Village of Stronghurst Board meeting on May 5th, Jade Parker and Diana Taylor gave an update on the status of the spray park. At the present time $84,000 has been raised and there are 5 fund raisers being planned.
They are also going to apply for a grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, which will require two more items for the park will be needed. The board members have suggested a new Curly Q slide and a soft walking (rubber tires) sidewalk around the perimeter of the park, which will need to be all weather and 6 feet wide.
Ronnie Gittings reported he will look into how to clean out the culverts in town every 50 feet and also discussed the water problem at Banks and Beals which they will be working on installing a smaller culvert and having the water run two different directions. . He also reported on McDonough Telephone route for laying underground fiber optics which will be going through town.

The next meeting will be held on Monday, June 2, at 7:00 p.m. in City Hall.
