La Harpe City Council

The La Harpe City Council met on Monday, January 27, 2014 at the City Hall and heard Todd Lehenbauer, a representative from Tri-State Equipment Co. in Palmyra, Missouri.

Lehenbauer gave a present ation to the council with options for a backhoe.

The City of La Harpe is getting estimates to replace their 1994 backhoe. Lehenbauer also presented the council with options on how to lease a backhoe.

In other business, the snow pusher for the city's backhoe is shot. It was new in 1975 or 76. Estimates for a 12 foot blade came in at $3300 for a blade in stock.

A motion was passed to order the new blade. Mowing bids for the City Cemetery and the City Park are due on February 7th and will be opened on February 10th.

Bid packets can be picked up at Rasmussen and Dittmer, LLC during normal business hours.

Mayor Brown attended a 3 hour long meeting with Shannon Duncan from Western Illinois Regional Council on the grants for the water main replacement project.

The project could cost the city over $1 million dollars.

It was reported that the city has had about 17 water main breaks since August.

The previous grant applied for will be reapplied for in hopes of getting a grant to fix the water mains.

The next La Harpe City Council meeting will be held on Monday, February 10th, 2014 at the La Harpe City Hall. The public is invited to attend all meetings.
