La Harpe City Council

The La Harpe City Council met for their regular meeting Monday, February 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. and the council discussed water rate increases.

It was said it is necessary in order to upgrade the sewer system.

The council discussed passing a Snow Emergency Ordinance, where vehicles would need to be moved long enough to allow the snowplows to remove snow from the main street.

There are 50/50 grants available for Parks and recreation/shelter houses. The council will check on this.

Motions were made and carried to:

The council discussed Backhoe price options.

Aldermen present were:

Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Josiah Neff, and Darrell Kraft, with City Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown.

Also present were: David Little, Justin Livingston, Wayne Humphrey, Kurt Dittmer, Tim Graves, Dan Gillett, and Doug Endres.

Motions were made and carried to approve and accept the January minutes, the treasurer's report, and to pay all bills.

Monday's Regular meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m.

The next scheduled regular council meeting will be February 24, at 7:00 p.m. at the La Harpe Sr. Citizen Center.
