The Dallas City City Council held its regular meeting on January 9, 2014, at 6 p.m. Mayor Higgins called the meeting to order with the following commissioners present: Esther Newberry, Harold Northup, Tom Schaefer, and Bob Weese. Others attending the meeting were Chris Classen and Ed Parker.
A letter was read from the Illinois FFA Foundation requesting that the city consider making a donation to our local FFA. A motion was made by Schaefer, and 2nd by Northup to donate $125 to the Illini West FFA. Newberry, Northup, Schaefer, and Weese AYE.
Chris Classen reported that he has fixed the electric heater at the old water plant.
It was reported that the Christmas lights will be taken down as soon as the weather gets better.
A motion was made by Weese, and 2nd by Schaefer to accept the minutes of the December 26, 2013, meeting. Newberry, Northup, Schaefer, and Weese AYE.
A motion was made by Weese, and 2nd by Schaefer to pay bills. Newberry, Northup, Schaefer, and Weese AYE.
Harold Northup left the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
A motion was made by Schaefer, and 2nd by Newberry to adjourn the meeting. Newberry, Schaefer, and Weese AYE. Northup ABSENT.
The meeting was adjourned at 6:45 p.m. .
The February regular meetings are tomorrow, Thursday February 13 and on Thursday February 27th.
