Meet Your Neighbor Stephanie Nicole Burns of Stronghurst.
Stephanie currently resides in Stronghurst but was born in Munster, Indiana and raised in Hammond, Indiana until she was eighteen when she decided on a change of scenery and safer place for a family.
She said, "My parents were always hard at work while I was growing up. My mother, Dawn M. Romine, worked in a bindery and now lives in Rensselaer, Indiana. My father, John J. Saeger, is a glazier and lives in Fayetteville, Tennessee".
Stephanie has three sisters and one brother. Melanie lives in Brook, Indiana, Shannon lives in Hammond, Indiana, Megan (Kenneth) Roarke, live in Huntsville, Alabama and brother, Louis (Tiffani) Saeger, live in Orlando, Florida.
On March 9, 2008 she married Bobby Burns in Burlington, Iowa. He currently is employed at Fisher Food Center and West Central FS gas station in Stronghurst. They have three children, a seven year old daughter, a six year old son, and a four year old son.
In 2011 she received her general equivalency diploma from Southeastern Community College. She is currently studying to get a Bachelor's degree in Business Entrepreneurship at Ashford University.
Stephanie is currently employed at Family Outreach Community Center as an AmeriCorps VISTA. Previously she was employed as a CNA at Oak Lane Nursing and Rehab, Bickford Cottage and Advanced Home Healthcare.
She is a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church.
Stephanie said, "I enjoy T-shirt crafts, DIY projects, fishing, watching outdoor dirt track racing, line dancing and making memories".
A special tradition of theirs is going to church as a family every Sunday, attending the Christmas Walk at Stronghurst, the Living Windows in Burlington, Iowa and the lighted parades in Burlington, Iowa and Oquawka.
Her future plans are to help build Family Outreach Community Center to sustainability, however long that may take. "I love working at Family Outreach Community Center and the atmosphere it brings. I also dream to own my own line dancing business and a community center for teenagers".
Her favorite Bible verse is: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11
