Meet your neighbor Chauntel Vance of Carthage. Chauntel was born in Quincy, on January 6, 1997 and raised in Carthage.
Chauntel is the daughter of Teri Vance of Carthage and Alan Vance of Camp Point. Her mom Teri is a biller at Macomb Medical.
She has one sister and one brother who live in Camp Point. Sister Alaina, a Sophomore, plays basketball and softball. Brother Jalan, an eighth grader, plays football and basketball.
Chauntel's grandparents are Jeff and Karen Clark of Carthage, and Larry and Judy Vance of Carthage.
Jeff is an insurance agent, and Karen is a cosmetologist and a cosmetology instructor.
Larry was a farmer and worked for the State of Illinois and Judy was a nurse.
Chauntel has worked for Lehr & Clark Insurance since July of this year and has been a dance instructor for Raeann's School of Dance for the last two years.
Her hobbies include dance and cheerleading.
Chauntel has been named a UCA All-American Cheerleader for 2 years and cheered with the UCA during the 2014 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade! She received a Midwest Starz Dance Scholarship in 2014 and has attended the New Beginnings workshop in New York City. She has also danced for many shows in Branson, Missouri.
Chauntel has been the FBLA President two years, Key Club Treasurer one year, International Club Secretary for one year, and has been the Illini West Cheer Captain for the last two years.
She is involved with the Git-R-Done Club and the Kids-in-Motion Dance Competition team.
After graduation in May of 2015, Chauntel hopes to go to Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville or Illinois College to pursue a degree in Business Administration.
