2013 Illini West Homecoming Is This Weekend

Candidates for homecoming king and queen were selected by the student body. They will be introduced at the homecoming parade on Friday afternoon, Sept. 27.

The king and queen will be announced during the pep rally on the courthouse square that follows the parade.

Queen candidates are Abby Adkisson, daughter of Lance and Shawna Adkisson.

She is active in FBLA, LOOP, Key Club, SADD and 4-H. She plans to attend Spoon River College and then attend a university for a degree in child care.

Graci Bastert is the daughter of Tami and Andy Bastert. She is active in volleyball, basketball, track, National Honor Society, SADD, Key Club and she works as a co-op student at Carthage Middle School.

She plans to go to college pursuing a career in the medical field.

Paige Bray is the daughter of Wayne and Susan Bray. She is active in volleyball, track, band, National Honor Society, Git-R-Done Club, and SADD.

She plans to attend college to become a forensic scientist.

Emily Gold is the daughter of Jason Gold and Michelle Gold. She is a member of the student council, National Honor Society and SADD. She is a class officer and a co-op work student at Wear Drug.

She plans to attend college and get a degree in pharmacy.

Shelby Thompson is the daughter of Sherri Jones and Karl Thompson. She is active in volleyball, SADD, Key Club, and works as a co-op student at LaHarpe Davier Nursing Home. She plans to attend college to become a veterinarian.

Candidates for homecoming are Brayden Carroll, son of David Carroll and Tami Carroll.

He is active in football, basketball, FBLA, FFA, Key Club, International Club and is class vice president.

He plans to attend a four-year college majoring in business.

Jacob Gittings is the son of Carmen Gittings and Ernie Gittings.

He is active in football, wrestling, Git-R-Done Club and Art Club.

He is class president. He plans to attend a four-year college majoring in animal science.

Dakota Huss is the son of Josh and Val Huss. He is active in football, wrestling and track. He plans to attend Hanibal-LaGrange University.

Leighton Johnson is the son of Justin and Mindy Johnson. He is active in football, track, Git-R-Done Club and helps with volunteer building projects.

He plans to attend college for a degree in engineering.

Holt McKenney is the son of Edward and Janet McKenney. He is active in football, basketball, band, Key Club and FBLA. He has offices in the International Club and Git-R-Done Club, and works with the HEART Mininstry.

He plans to attend a four-year university for a degree in sports medicine.
