La Harpe Class of 1952

Completes Another Reunion Project

At the La Harpe High School Class of 1952 reunion held in 2011, it was decided to ask the La Harpe Elementary School Board for the cornerstone of the 1928 high school building, which was to be demolished in 2012.

If obtained, it would be placed in the City Park beside the first high school cornerstone of 1899 which was also placed by the Class of "52.

The board voted to allow this and the city was also in agreement with the plan.

Harrison Monument Co. of Warsaw, was again contacted for this project to provide a stone to be placed in front of the cornerstone in the same way the 1899 cornerstone has been displayed.

All money for this project was donated by members of the class of 1952. The project for the 1928 stone was completed last Wednesday, October 9, 2013.

At the time of this project completion, Harrison Monument Co. also poured concrete for the base of a new park bench being placed by the City of La Harpe.
