Employees will be happy after hearing, The La Harpe City Council voted to give the city employees a Christmas bonus again this year and a motion was passed to cancel the second City Council meeting in December due to the Christmas holiday. The action happened on Monday, November 25, 2013 at 7:00 pm.
There will be a committee Supervisor s meeting on Wednesday, Dec. 4th and a meeting for the public works committee regarding water rates on Tuesday, November 26. .
It was reported that the electricity has been fixed on the south side of the park and the work on the shelter house will be held off until spring.
A motion was made to pass the 2014 Tax Levy.
In March the hunting leases are up on the Johnson farm ground. These hunting leases will probably be opened up for bids, anyone interested should get ahold of the La Harpe City Attorney Dittmer.
It was reported that the second railroad crossing on South C Street is in really bad shape. The city is working with the township to get the proper people contacted to have it fixed.
The La Harpe City Hall will be open for the Annual La Harpe Country Christmas Tuesday, December 3rd with a drawing. Residents and visitors are invited to stop by to check out the city hall and sign up.
The next council meeting will be Monday, December 9th
