Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor Craig Wear of Carthage.

Craig was born in Carthage in 1978.

He is the son of Charlie Wear of Ft. Green, who is a farmer, and Jan White of Carthage, a teacher.

Craig has lived in several places including Ft. Green, Basco, Warsaw, Hamilton, Carthage and Burnside.

He graduated from High School from Warsaw High school in 1997 and Drake University in 2004.

Craig married his wife, Anita, 32, in 2005. Anita is from Bombay, India. Craig and Anita have 3 children, Priya, 3, Miles, 3 and Troy, 1.

He has several siblings: Michael Harrell and his wife Maggie live in Burnside. He is a farmer and she is a veterinarian.

Carlie Wear lives in Quincy and is a veterinary tech;

Cody Wear lives in Ft. Green and works at County Market,

Carter Wear lives in Davenport, IA, and is a college student and

Shelbi White, lives in Carthage and is a high school student.

Craig is the grandson of Russ Wear of rural Carthage and Helen White of Carthage.

Craig and Anita own and operate Wear Drug which was opened in 2006.

They own the Lake Hill Winery, founded in 2010. Craig worked for Keaslings Pharmacy in Keokuk, IA, after college and still works there one day a week.

The couple enjoyed a two week vacation out west in their truck camper the summer following their graduation from college.

They traveled over 5,000 miles and saw places like the Grand Canyon, Lake Havasu, Las Vegas, Yellowstone, Mount Rushmore, and several others.

Craig’s hobbies include playing with his kids, and basketball.

He is a member of the Carthage Community Development Board, and the Kiwanis.
