Breakaway College Girl

Hey readers! I hope you have had a wonderful summer so far. It hasn't been much of a summer with all this chilly weather and rain though, has it?

I am so happy to be home for the summer and have been enjoying spending time with family and friends. For those of you who don't know, I recently got engaged to my boyfriend of two years on May 16th! I was so surprised and luckily his sister Kayla, photographed the whole thing to see my crazy facial expressions!

My fiance Kevin Burgus, has recently joined the Marines and leaves for boot camp in October. That is part of the reason we are getting married at such a young age. I know some people say we are too young and why don't you just wait? Age is nothing but a number. Two people can be in love no matter if they are 18 or 80.

I'm not going to lie and say I'm not scared, because I am. Marriage is a huge commitment and I know it is going to take a lot of work. I read this quote that said, "Marriage is a bond between two good forgivers". How true is that, right? You have to be forgiving to make it work. I'll have to learn to forgive Kevin for leaving his dirty clothes everywhere, and he'll have to learn to forgive me when I burn supper three nights in a row.

Even though I am scared, I am so very excited to marry the most amazing man in this world. He truly is an amazing guy and I am a very lucky girl! I have lots and lots of planning to do and I don't even know where to start, but luckily we aren't getting married for a little over a year!

I know this will be an exciting journey! I am sure there will be more columns updating all of you, my wonderful readers, what has been happening!

Have a great week everybody! Hopefully, we can enjoy some warm dryer weather, very very soon!
