Meet Your Neighbor

Meet your neighbor and Illini West Senior Gage Blake of Lomax.

Gage was born in November of 1994.

He is the son of Lisa Gosney and Tom McVey. His mother is the manager of Applebees in Burlington, IA and his step-father is retired from Case New Holland and now owns the Iowa Tavern in Burlington, IA.

Gage has one brother, CJ and one sister, Leandra.

He is the grandson of George Blake and Margret Blake.

He is the President of FBLA at Illini West, is in FFA, and played football. Gage is the Vice Commander of Sons of the American Legion out of Dallas City and is a volunteer firefighter with the Lomax Fire Department and also part of the Lomax Ambulance.

Gage loves to play football and baseball with friends, and loves going on trips and hanging out with his friends.

His favorite vacation was going to Florida with his family and also going to Texas with one of his best friends.

Gage's most memorable moments of high school are playing football and hanging out with his friends.

While in eighth grade, he won the Humanitarian Award and just received his certificate from FEMA on taking the “NIMS” (National Incident Management Systems) testing.

After high school, Gage plans on attending Indian Hills College in Ottumwa and getting a degree in Criminal Justice.
