Breakaway College Girl

Hello readers!

I hope everyone is having a great week so far! One week closer to summer break and three months of freedom!

I had a great weekend at home and at West Central Prom with my amazing boyfriend! I love getting dressed up! It was a ton of fun!

I have been thinking a lot about what I am going to write my column about this week and on my way back to DeKalb Sunday it came to me.

I have realized that I spend way too much time worrying about what other people think and trying to please people.

I try hard to make sure people aren't mad and that everyone is happy. The thing is in life, there is no way possible to please everyone.

People are always going to have something to say about a decision you make. Some people may support you and others just completely think you are wrong.

Everyone is going to have something to say either good or bad. There is no sense is wasting time worrying about other people. You will spend a lot of time worrying and that just isn't going to lead to a happy life.

Don't ever let anyone make decisions for you just to benefit them.

Taking advice from other people is not a bad thing, and not meant to be confused with what I am talking about.

Always listen to other opinions and take them into consideration, but don't let someone tell you exactly what to do.

If you let people make important decisions for you, then you will not be happy in the long run.

I can not stress enough to do what makes you happy!

Who cares if people don't like your decision?

It's not their life. You can't spend your whole life trying to please everyone.
