Newman "Woody" Hawks is seen here presenting Oquawka Village Clerk Sandy Huff with a check for $500.00, to be used for Playground Equipment for Small Children. Hawks and Al Livingston of Oquawka Masonic Lodge #123, gave the check from the Pennies for Children Fund of the Masonic Lodge. Hopefully, this amount will be matched by the Masonic Grand Lodge of Illinois, located in Springfield. The presentation was made prior to Monday night's Oquawka Village Board meeting.
