Take The Quill Along

Carol Knupp, 75, of Stronghurst took The Quill along to Iowa to the Burlington Air Show September 23rd with the plan of skydiving in a tandem jump with the Quad Cities Diving team. She stands with owner Dennis Jensen of Geneseo, who has recorded over 700 tandem jumps. Excited and already to go, Carol poses with The Quill for a photo and then hops in the small aircraft with three other jumpers and the pilot. About twenty minutes later above the clouds at 10,000 feet Dennis was hooking up for the jump and Carol began having breathing problems from the high altitude, and Jensen made the heartbreaking announcement - "You can't jump". Carol was quite upset. "If they only had let me jump, I would have been okay after I had fallen a few thousand feet." Carol was to have opened the parachute once they reached 6,000 feet. She still plans on jumping and will try it again, she says. Her son Bill and husband John said, no doubt she will. She loves the fast rides at the theme parks and this would be the ultimate.

When you go on a trip, take "The Quill" along and take your picture with it. Let's see where all The Quill can travel.
