The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
First State Bank of Illinois, LaHarpe Office, will once again be the collection place for new gifts which will be distributed within the LaHarpe Elementary & Jr. High School District by community members. This project was started in 1988 to provide a "gift" rather than a "needed" item to families in our community.
Gifts may be placed under the Christmas tree in the bank lobby anytime from November 30th through December 14th. Our lobby will also be open during the LaHarpe Country Christmas on Tuesday, December 4th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM to accept donations for the Gift Tree.
A collection box will be next to the tree for cash donations. All gifts must be new and left unwrapped. Cash donations will be used to purchase additional gifts.
There is a wide variety of items that are appropriate for this project. For example: toys, games, books, school logo items, throws, perfume, jewelry, watches, billfolds, candy and candles just to name a few. Keep in mind that all ages benefit from this project from the elderly to the very young.
As you do your shopping, pick up a little something extra for your family to share with someone less fortunate. Your donation will help make a difference in the lives of families in our community during the holidays.
