The La Harpe City Council met on Monday, June 25, at 7:00 p.m. at the La Harpe City Hall and passed a motion to gie all city employees hired prior to January 1, 2012, a 2% raise in their salaries..
There has been interest in changing the speed limit from 40 mph to 35 mph going north on Route 9 out pass CCS and Blythe Enterprises. Mayor Brown will contact the city attorney on this matter.
The Council also passed the 2012-13 City Budget.
The new Wear Drug store is getting positive reviews and Cookie's Diner is getting ice cream it was reported.
The liquor license for R&B's Pitstop was changed from July to June and renewed for another year.
There has been renewed interest in the Ayerco building.
The split-rail fence is up at 6th and Archer Avenue. The city was able to get the fence at a considerably lower rate than first bid. The first bid came in at $670 and they were able to get it for $485.
All members were present except for Todd Irish.
The next meeting will be Monday, July 9th at 7:00 p.m.
