La Harpe's City Council met on Monday June 11, at 7:00 p.m. at La Harpe City Hall and heard City employee Tim Graves report that they need to replace the settling tubes at the water plant at the reservoir. Tim said he had a quote from Tonka Equipment for $2950. Council approved this maintenance issue.
Graves also reported that the chemical testing that is done through the EPA is due.
Just for the sampling of the water for the year, the cost is $4584. Graves is going to check with a company out of Peoria, PDC Laboratories, to see if it can be done any cheaper through their facilities.
In other business the Council members heard:
¥ the fence has been ordered to put around the drainage hole at 6th and Archer.
¥ Wear Drug satellite store opened today June 11.
¥ the Prevailing Wage Ordinance passed.
¥ from Mayor Brown a report from FEMA will soon arrive about being covered by the flood insurance.
¥ from La Harpe resident Jim Ford of a bid he received for a sidewalk in front of his new building on North B street for $1916 with the city paying half of this expense. Motion passed.
City Wide Clean Up was reported as Friday, June 15.
