Flood Book Debute Sunday

On January 22, 2012 at 2 pm at the Henderson County Public Library The Turning Pages Book Club invites the public and book contributors to a celebration of the publication of their booklet entitled "And Then the Water Came".

The book features stories of the 1965, 2003 and 2008 floods in Henderson County as told by those who experienced them.

These personal stories and pictures document the courage, fortitude, and resourcefulness of county residents from a small child to veteran flood survivors.

Also featured are copies of Henderson County Reads book selection for 2011-2012 , Isaac's Storm by Eric Larson; this book chronicles the calamity, the 1900 Galveston, Texas hurricane that reduced the city from the largest in Texas to a decimated landscape of rubble killing 8,000 residents.

Come join the celebration and meet the authors of the publication of this historic publication. They are your neighbors and friends. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the Henderson County Public Library on Jan. 23, 2012.
