Santa's House

Santa's House had a long line at his door Tuesday, with many sitting on his lap or just talking to him about their Christmas wish list. The Quill office had long lines prior to the parade with a hundred cookies gone the first hour. People were saying theycouldn't stay and visit because they wanted to hit enough places to get their card punched 15 times to be entered into the turkey give-away. The parade lasted an hour and the man with the horse drawn carriage from Burlington, Iowa said it was the biggest event he had ever participated in. He curtailed his rides to just around the La Harpe park to give more people an opportunity to ride.. One lady commented, in all her years, she had never seen so many in town, it brought tears to her eyes. La Harpe is alive and well. A story will follow next week.
