Approves Duties
Illini West Board President Tracey Anders administered the Oath of Office to new board member Beth Pence.
The swearing in took place at the regular monthly meeting of the Illini West High School District #307 Board of Education held on Wednesday, March 28.
Beth is from Dallas City, and fills the vacancy left by Mr. Robert Clifton, who chose to step down from the board.
In other business, the board heard the good news that Chargers of the Month for March were Cole Carson and Mary Carroll.
The board also made new appointments which included the approval of Steven Wood of Carthage as the Transportation/Maintenance and the Grounds Supervisor/Manager. Wood was to begin his duties this past Monday, April 2.
The following coaches were approved for the 2012-2013 school year:
John Hughs - Boys Basketball Coach,
Wyatt Young - Assistant Boys Basketball Coach,
Tim Lafferty - Assistant Boys Basketball Coach,
Bill Rasmussen - Volunteer Assistant Boys Basketball Coach,
Andy Gronewold - Volunteer Assistant Boys Basketball Coach,
Dick Keene - Volunteer Assistant Girls Basketball Coach and
Steven Patrick - Volunteer Assistant Girls Basketball Coach.
Mrs. Elaine Dion gave a report on "Race To The Top 3" which she is currently working on and is due on March 30.
The firm of Gray Hunter Stenn LLP from Quincy, was approved as the auditor for the IW school district.
The Public School Calendar for 2012-2013 was also approved as was membership to IHSA for the 2012-2013 school year.
Several fundraising requests were also approved.
