The third week of October, "The Quill" traveled with the Haddix family to Willis, Virginia in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The fall colors were beautiful. One day was spent in Mt. Airy, North Carolina visiting the Andy Giffith tributes and on to Mt. Pilot.
Pictured are Melvin Haddix with son, Doug of Blandinsville, son, Joey and his son, Joshua of Colchester. Also on the trip were Rosalie Haddix and her brother, Joe Phillips of Macomb.
