Village of Lomax

The Lomax Village Board met April 12, 2011 in regular session with President Mike Peters calling the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the Clerk Leslie Roberts, calling roll and all trustees were present including James Rosenboom, Ron Van Niewaal, Ron Logan, Karl Schaefer, Jr., and Kim Peters, and Greg Webster.

Ruth Higgins and Dennis Hilliard appeared regarding the police contract and monthly services. Board will advise residents to call Henderson County to reach Dallas Police for non-emergencies and dial 911 for emergencies.

Kim talked about Key Group (young Kiwanis Illini West students) were going to be picking up trash, doing repairs, replacing swings, etc. as a project in the Village park.

The board discussed making a donation to the group, but will table the action until next month to see what expenses the group might have.

Webster moved to donate a new sign to the Lomax-Carman Senior Citizens for their building; seconded by Kim; roll call vote all ayes. Kim and Greg will work on getting the sign ordered.

Parks Committee will look into the signs or lack thereof regarding alcohol and park closing times and report back next month. The board will also look into current ordinances about the alcohol and park closings to see if there needs to be revisions.

The following applications were made for Class A-1 liquor licenses in the Village: Yellow Rose and Pink Tavern, Inc. Ron Logan moved to approve both applications; Karl seconded the motions and roll call vote was all ayes.

Greg reported that Alan Ferguson and he had discussed the 2011 road maintenance and that Alan would try to be at the May or June meeting of the board to discuss details.

The board also discussed a possible Cleanup Day for the village since they did not do one last year. Greg was going to contact Floyd's to get pricing for a curbside pickup.

Ron V. moved to pay Daniel Webster and Zack Todd $30 each for labor in removing Christmas lighting; second by Karl; roll call all ayes. (Taken from the minutes submitted by Leslie A. Roberts, Lomax Village Clerk)
