Village of Raritan Board Met June 9th

The President and Trustees met in the meeting room of the Raritan Fire House June 9, 2011 with all present including Trustees Blender, Magee, Waller, Powless, Knapp and Anders answering roll call.

Bills presented were approved: Ameren IP $2,381.22; Dallas Rural Water $539.25; IRWA $228.90; Thompson Insurance $225.00; REC Recycling $75.00; Waste Management $877.20; Jay Blender $675.00; Dennis Rankin $184.25; Phil Anders $84.00.

Visitor Shanna Winters requested a building permit for an addition to their home and asked how much it would take to move their water meter to the east in which the President will ask the engineer about the matter.

Dave Schaub from WM will be present at the July 14, 2011 meeting with the amended contract.

A letter was received from Thompson Insurance inquiring if the Trustees wanted them to attend a meeting to go over the village insurance. The Trustees decided to have a Thompson Insurance representative come to the next meeting.

The President reported that there is no noise ordinance, and it was decided to notify the sheriff if there is problems.

The Prevailing Wage Ordinance was approved as presented and approval was given of a motion by Trustee Knapp, seconded by Trustee Powless to give a $2,500.00 donation to the museum for their new roof.

Trustee Magee stated that there were several tile holes in the park which needed attention. It was decided that Trustee Waller and Trustee Anders will repair the above.

Trustee Powless reported that the playground area in the park needed chips. A motion was made by Trustee Blender, seconded by Trustee Waller to have Trustee Anders get the chips for the playground area.
