Grateful
Dear Editor:
Recently I was at the La Harpe Cemetery putting flowers on loved ones graves for Memorial Day. I met the nicest lady. She introduced herself as Peg Sears Villwock.
She explained that she puts the small flags on veterans' graves.
Sometimes she works alone and sometimes volunteers help her do this wonderful task. Everyone on the La Harpe community should be grateful to her for doing this act of love for our veterans.
I mentioned that my grandfather, a World War I veteran, did not have a flag. I contacted her later and was informed that he now has a flag.
Everyone who has loved ones, especially veterans, buried in the La Harpe Cemetery should be grateful to Peg for all her efforts.
