The La Harpe City Council met for their regular meeting July 25, 2011 at 7:00 p.m.
Aldermen present: Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown.
Also present were: Wayne Humphrey, Greg Butler, Ron Brewer, Dan Gillett, and Doug Endres.
Motions were made and carried to approve and accept the treasurer's report, and to pay all bills.
Motions were made and carried to:
-Approve a Class A liquor license for Ronald Brewer
- Hire National Tree Assurance to cut down 2 trees and remove the stumps at the cemetery
-Pay for half the roofing expense at the Sr. Citizen center
-Sponsor an "Experience Works" person to work for the city
Greg Butler was present to go over the City's Audit.
The paperwork for the snow removal was approved by IEMA to reimburse the city for extra labor from last winter.
There is a CDAP and WIRC housing grant available, and the city will apply for this program again.
A satellite Pharmacy will be coming to La Harpe in the near future.
The 13th Annual Fred Gibb Memorial Open Car Show will be August 6th, and the Annual La Harpe Summerfest is August 10-13th.
The council went into Executive Session from 8:14 p.m. until 8:27 p.m.
The regular meeting adjourned at 8:41 p.m..
The next scheduled regular council meeting will be August 8, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
