The Henderson County Fair Opens Friday with a Horse Show at the Lomax Saddle Club
Last year, Macy Davis reported for The Quill, activities at the Lomax Saddle Club Horse Show at Lomax, where the official kick-off of the Henderson County Fair begins.
Because there is not an adequate place for the horse show at the fairgrounds, the show will be in the comfortable environment of the Lomax Saddle Club. Macy reported how enjoyable the event is and all are invited to witness the area's talented young horse owners.
The horse show is this Friday, July 15th at 5:00 p.m., east of the Lomax city limits.
(A schedule of events for this year's fair is listed inside the centerfold of this week's "Quill" thanks to the sponsors who are listed on the double pages.)
Events at the Henderson County Fairgrounds will begin Sunday at 4:00 p.m. with an old-time country church service, followed at 5:00 p.m. by the Henderson County Queen Pageant.
The weather forecast for Stronghurst calls for isolated thunder storms until Friday, but sunshine is in the 10 day forecast for the entire fair week with highs expected between 87 to 92 and lows 69 to 73 degrees.
Although it may be hot, the possibilities of no rain will make good weather for an eventful week of showing animals and projects as well as for Figure 8 Derby and Oval Racing along with Sand Volleyball and Animal Scramble and various games for Family Night at the Fair.
