The Consolidated Election, is Tuesday, April 5, 2011.

The deadline for filing a notarized "Declaration of Intent to be a Write-In Candidate" must do so no later than 61 days prior to the election which is February 3rd.

However, whenever an objection to a candidate's nominating papers or petitions for any office is sustained after the 61st day before the election, the candidate may file a notarized declaration of intent to be a write-in candidate for that office with the proper election authority no later than 7 days prior to the election. This excludes independent candidates.

Several towns in the county have not had anyone who filed for the open positions including Biggsville, Gulfport and Gladstone. Write-ins could file or boards will appoint someone to the vacancies after the election, Henderson County Clerk Marcella Cisna said.
