Meet Your Neighbor

Meet Your Neighbor Connie Shinberger of Oquawka.

She is Home Support Director at Henderson County Health Department, CNA and Supervisor, Gladstone.

Connie was born in Monmouth and raised in Oquawka.

Connie went back to school, after 20 years, and received her high school diploma.

In order for her to acquire her present position she has earned several certificates.

She has been employed by the health department for 20 years plus.

"I enjoy my job and it is a great place to work," she said.

"I enjoy working with the elderly and my fellow employees and every day is a challenge, but I am also looking forward to my retirement in August of 2011."

Her father is Donald D. Jones and her mother is Hazel Jones.

She has two sisters, Diane (deceased), and Terrie Lynne, and one brother, Howard.

She has been married to Terry for 42 years and they look forward to their 50th wedding anniversary.

They have a daughter, Amy (Rollie) Siegfried and a son, Todd (Kimberly), who all live in Oquawka.

Amy is a homemaker and Rollie is a stay at home domestic engineer.

Todd is employed at Alexander Lumber in Stronghurst and Kim owns Shear Elegance in Oquawka.

Todd and Kim have given them three wonderful grandsons, Zach, Clyde, and Caleb.

She enjoys being with family, attending her grandsons basketball games, football games, baseball and track, embroidery, making jewelry, working at her desk and meeting the needs of many programs in the community for all age groups.
