In October "The Quill" travelled to Cuba with Barbara Peasley Thatcher and her husband Henry.
The Thatcher's traveled to Cuba on an educational visa arranged for by Barbara's almamater, Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri. The picture with "The Quill" was taken from the roof top of their hotel overlooking the Opera House and the Capital of Cuba in Havana. Aside from Havana the Thatcher's also visited Cienfuegos, Santa Clara, Sancti Spiritus, Trinidad and the area where the Bay of Pigs took place.
