The La Harpe City Council met on Monday August 22, 2011.
After the minutes and treasurer's report were approved, Dan Gillett reported on his Economic Development meeting that he attended on August 16th.
In new business, the Fall City-Wide-Clean-Up was set for Friday,Oct. 7th. Items are to be at the curbside by 5 a.m.
There will be a meeting Thursday, Aug. 25th at the nursing home to discuss the sidewalk repairs that need done.
The trees in the cemetery are down. The orginal bidders are the ones that did the work.
One monument needs repaired. It was noted that there are a few pine trees in the city park that have bagworms. These will be sprayed.
Mayor Brown has been working with WIRC on the housing grant.
The Dallas City American Legion is hosting a "Remembering 911 Parade and BBQ" September 11th serving food 11-3 p.m. and the parade at 1 p.m.
All council members were present: Todd Irish, Vicki Burford, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Darryl Kraft, and Mike Bennett, Mayor Ken Brown, Treasurer Marcia Neff and Secretary Lucretia McPeak.
Guests were Dan Gillett, Doug Endres and Christy Kienast. The meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
