The Hancock-Henderson Quill, Inc.
Sam and Kristin Wolf of rural Biggsville took the Quill along to Colorado in July 2010.
They spent a week at YMCA Camp Chief Ouray near Winter Park/Granby where Kristin has attended camp the past five summers.
Sam attended traditional camp where he rode horses, went hiking in the mountains, camped one night in the mountains without tents, and all of the other typical camp activities.
Kristin went backpacking through Rocky Mountain National Park all week with the Sherpa program.
They set up new camps every night and climbed to the summit of a 12,000 foot peak as the final activity. Kristin and friend, Ellie, were the only two to successfully complete the Jacob's Ladder high ropes activity (even though they were competing against mostly older boys)!
Kristin has a goal of climbing a 14,000 foot peak before graduating high school.
Kristin and Sam are waiting for their bus west of Denver.
When you go on a trip, take "The Quill" along and have your picture taken with it, then send it to us. Let's see where all "The Quill" can travel.
