At the La Harpe City Council regular meeting Monday, August 23, Council members voted to waive the conflict of interest between sisters Betty Parrish, a WIRC grant recipient, and Lucretia McPeak, City Clerk, due to their being sisters.
The Council also voted to pass Resolution #2010-E, ( to sell real estate property); and to have Halloween Trick-or-treating on Saturday, October 30th, instead of Sunday, October 31st .
It was noted that the new garbage rates will go into effect September 1st.
October 15th will be fall clean-up, and they will pick up computer hard drives and printers, but not televisions or computer monitors.
The regular meeting adjourned at 7:54 p.m. until the next scheduled regular council meeting to be September 13, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at the La Harpe City Hall.
Aldermen present are: Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown.
Also present were: Richard Rasmussen, Royal White, Dan Gillett, Betty Parrish, and Doug Endres.
Motions were made and carried to approve and accept the treasurer's report, and to pay all bills.
