Says Burn Pile Could Close
At Monday night's regular La Harpe City Council meeting it was reported that more than yard waste was being dumped at the burn pile.
If this continues, Council members concluded that the burn pile could be closed permanently.
The Golf Cart Ordinance was revised and presented to the council.
A motion was approved to waive the readings of the Golf cart Ordinance and pass said Ordinance.
La Harpe has been accepted by the Enterprise Zone.
A motion was approved to use the money from the Community Council to purchase playground equipment (swings) for the city park.
Also, a motion was approved to accept Jackson disposal's proposal.
There will be a Budget committee meeting Thursday, May 20th , at 6:30 pm., at city hall.
According to the cemetery contract, trimming around the headstones, will be done twice a month.
The La Harpe City Council met for their regular meeting May 10, 2010 at 7:00 pm. All Aldermen were present: Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, and Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown.
Also present were: Willo Shutwell, Justin Livingston, Richard Rasmussen, Roger Hughes, Wayne Humphrey, Tim Graves, and Doug Endres.
Motions were made and carried to approve and accept the Treasurer's Report, and to pay all bills.
The next scheduled regular council meeting will be May 24, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.
