Meet your neighbors Randy and Karen Shumaker of La Harpe. Randy was born June 1977 to Leta Shumaker of La Harpe and the late Carol Shumaker. Leta, works for the Journal Pilot in Carthage now for 33 years. He has one sister Laura Claassen of La Harpe who works for First State Bank of Illinois and she has two sons Colby and Chase.
Randy's a 1995 graduate of La Harpe High and 1998 graduate of S.C.C. in Burlington, IA with a degree in Design Engineering.
He has been employed by JTPA as custodian during the summer through H.S. and Target in Burlington, IA while attending college. Randy also worked for Methode Electronics in Carthage as a Design Engineer and Testing Coordinator. While working at Methode Randy lived in Carthage for a couple of years. He worked for the La Harpe Ambulance between 2000-04 and now works for the La Harpe School District as a Bus Driver.
Randy operates his own sound and light show known as "Krazylegz Sound and Light".
He met his wife Karen Worley Shumaker through MySpace. They both had many of the same friends and knew each other's family members but never crossed paths. They began dating November 2007 and married May 24, 2008.
Karen is the daughter of Kevin and Betty (Evie) Worley of Lomax. He is a maintenance technician at Federal Mogel in Burlington, IA. now for 17 years and she is a stay at home mom, grandma, great grandma.
Karen is a Dallas City HS 2001 graduate. She got her degree in Cosmetology at Carl Sandburg in 2003.
She's a stay at home mom to their children Destiny 9, Avery 4 and Taylor 9 months.
Randy and Karen enjoys fishing, boating, bowling, dining out, cook outs and spending time with family and friends plus Randy likes to hunt.
Randy's favorite memories are seeing the birth of their daughters and bowling 2 perfect 300 games. Karen's is staying with her grandparents and the cabin.
