Meet Your Neighbor, Angela Myers, who resides in Stronghurst.
Angela currently works at Great River Medical Center in Burlington, Iowa as the manager of the day surgery and recovery department.
She was born in Monmouth and raised South of Raritan. She has lived within a six mile radius of Stronghurst for most all of her life. She graduated from Media-Weaver High School in Media and from Southeastern Community College in Burlington, Iowa earning her Nursing Degree.
Angela is married to Terry, her husband of 18 years. She has three children, David Jack, Steven Jack and Brian Jack and two step-children, Jeff Myers and Jackie Morrison. They have nine grandchildren, Brice and Rachele Jack, Peyton and Spencer Jack, Angie and Alec Jack and Haley, Alex and Alicia Smothers.
Angela is a member of the Stronghurst Christian Church where she enjoys serving as their organist.
In her spare time she enjoys quilting, sewing, music, cooking, baking, vegetable and flower gardening, her small fish pond, her grandkids and going to their games, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition she enjoys being involved in the community where she has served on the village board for the past six years.
One of her favorite memories is of going to her grandparents for Christmas and other holidays. She says, "It always meant a lot to me and I try to carry on the tradition with my own grandchildren". "I love to cook and bake and just spend time with my family, it's always a special time".
