La Harpe City Council Meets

The La Harpe City Council met for their regular meeting January 25, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Beginning February, the civil defense siren or (tornado siren) will be tested the first Tuesday of every month, at 10:00 a.m.

There was a power outage at the sewer plant Monday, January 25th, and there was some damage to motors caused by the power surge when turned back on. It was repaired, but needs a surge protector put on to prevent this from happening again. Council is looking into doing so.

La Harpe has been approved to receive grant funds to create a feasibility study to ultimately move the Bio-diesel plant towards construction.

Council discussed police, personnel, and garbage issues.

Regular session went to Executive session at 7:50 p.m., and back to Regular session at 7:59 p.m.

Regular meeting adjourned at 8:00 pm.

All Aldermen were present: Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Marcia Stiller, Michael Bennett, Vicki Burford, Darrell Kraft, Treasurer-Marcia Neff, City Clerk-Lucretia McPeak, and Mayor-Kenneth Brown.

Also present were: Justin Livingston, Tim Graves, Dan Gillett, and Doug Endress.

Motions were made and carried to approve and accept the treasurer's report, and to pay all bills.

The next scheduled regular council meeting will be February 8, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall.

Respectfully submitted,

Lucretia McPeak,

City Clerk.
