Meet Your Neighbor Tanya Robinson of Carman
Tanya is the office manager at the Stronghurst division of the Henderson County Highway Department and has been employed there for 11 years.
Previously she was employed as bookkeeper for Beckman and Hirsch Attorneys in Burlington, Iowa, and earlier a bookkeeper at McGladry Pullen in Burlington, Iowa.
She was born in Quincy and raised in Burlington, Iowa.
in 1978 Tanya graduated from Burlington Community High School and furthered her education at Southeastern Community College in West Burlington, Iowa, receiving a two year accounting degree.
She has 3 daughters, Starr (25) who lives in Carman and is a paramedic, twin daughters, Ciara and Symone (22). Ciara is a nurse at Memorial Hospital in Decatur and Symone is a licensed cosmetologist and presently attending Southeastern Community College pursuing a nursing degree.
Her father is deceased and her mother, Nola Wardlow, lives in Burlington, Iowa.
Tanya has a sister, Sheri (25), who is a student at Southeastern and a jewelry specialist at Kay's Jewelry in Burlington, Iowa, and one brother, Vince, a chiropractor in Beckley, West Virginia. She also has a niece, Vanessa, and a nephew, Vincent Wardlow II, both are students in Beckley, West Virginia.
She attends the Stronghurst Christian Church where her daughters are involved.
In her spare time Tanya attends Starr's music and theater programs.
She also shoots pool for the Crazy Coyote traveling DNR amusement 8 ball league. Working outside, reading and cooking are some of her favorite things to do.
When asked what she enjoys about her job she replied, " I have a variety of duties and it is "never" boring."
