The Illini West Board of Education is pleased to announce that at half-time of the Chargers home football game (Illini West vs. Bushnell Prairie City/Avon) on Friday, September 4th, a dedication ceremony will be conducted for the home bleachers.
After the last football season the outside bleachers needed to be replaced. The Latherow Family and La Harpe residents graciously donated the C. Dannen Latherow Memorial Bleachers for the students and fans of Illini West.
On Friday night, the Latherow family will be presented a plaque commemorating their generous donation in memory of their son; RD Trout and Tom Holtsclaw will be presented certificates for their many hours invested in moving and reassembling the bleachers; and gratitude will be expressed to countless others who donated their time and effort to make the dream become a reality.
The Chargers' fans of Illini West will enjoy this generous donation for many years to come.
The community is invited to come out to the football field at 7:00 p.m. and enjoy number one ranked Chargers in action, enjoy sitting on the new bleachers and then help dedicate and thank the Latherows and volunteers while supporting our high school and the IW Chargers football program. Your attendance is appreciated.
