The regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of Illini West HSD #307 was held on Wednesday, October 14, 2009.
Students of the Month for September, Shanna Smith and Samuel Newberry, were honored.
The District continues to consider how best to set up an Educational Foundation to assist in administration of scholarship funds.
Business students are eligible to participate in a program, Elevate America, sponsored by Microsoft which offers vouchers to assist with costs of online courses and business certification exams that are essential to achieving employment goals.
The following basketball coaching positions were filled: Tim Lafferty, JV Boys Basketball Assistant; Wyatt Young, Freshmen Boys Basketball Assistant; Bill Rasmussen, Volunteer Boys Basketball Assistant; Rachelle Boston, JV Girls Basketball Assistant.
Illini West High School was approved as a possible vaccination site for H1N1 shots which could be offered to students.
The School Report Card was approved and is available for inspection on the District web site at www.illiniwest.org.
Contracts were approved with the Illinois Department of Healthcare and Family Services for Medicaid reimbursement and Simplex/Grinnell for testing of fire alarms, etc.
