Illini West Plan Tax Hike for "09; Are Planning Public Hearing

At the regular monthly meeting of the Board of Education of Illini West HSD #307 November 11, 2009, the board reports that they passed a resolution determining amounts of money estimated to be necessary to be raised by taxation for the year 2009.

This will require a public hearing to inform taxpayers and the public on the intent of the Illini West Board of Education to levy taxes for the year 2009 in excess of 105% of the taxes extended for the district for the preceding year.

Also the board heard:

• October Students of the Month honored were Natalie Northup and Joe Goetz.
• Tammey Gilbert, the IWHS Social Worker, was employed as the SADD Sponsor for 2009-2010.
• and approved Early graduation requests from three Senior students.
