President Eric Chockley called the Stronghurst Village board to order at 7:00 p.m. to finish the old business before swearing in newly elected board members.
The minutes and treasury report were approved.
Members were reminded May 22nd will be City Wide Cleanup day and June 12th & 13th is scheduled for City Wide Yard Sales.

Tony Anderson reported the City Burn Site is going to have to be locked up due to misuse. After a discussion of ideas on how to solve the problem it was decided Chris Cook would have a key at Riverland FS and anyone wishing access would need to go there to get a key. When picking up the key a $20 deposit will be required, this will be returned when the key is returned.
Anderson also reported Cory Nichols had turned in his two weeks notice and his last day would be May 15th. The board instructed Anderson to run an ad for help with a deadline of May 22nd. They would do interviews on the 27th and present one or two names at the next board meeting for final approval.
President Chockley appointed Mike Nelson and Mike Bohnenkamp to the clean up committee which will begin June 1st to check for village ordinance violations.
In other business:
Mike Nelson said he had complaints about tall grass on some properties.
May 13th the village will begin flushing hydrants for 2 or 3 weeks on Wednesdays.
The Fassett house has been sold and is now torn down.
The paper work is being done for the house at 311 N. Division St., Stronghurst.
Anderson and Nichols cleaned up the corner flower beds at the park, as well as built up the flower beds so bicycles could not run through them.
Granted permission for a modular home to be erected along the highway in Stronghurst, as long as all the codes are adhered to.
Discussed hiring a village marshal. Bohnenkamp will check on some vehicle prices before further discussion.
