La Harpe City Council

Mayor Ken Brown called the meeting to order Monday evening at 7:00 p.m. with Trustees Todd Irish, Brian Lovell, Derek Helmers, Mike Bennett, Dave Carpenter, and Vicki Burford all answering roll call.

The Minutes and Treasurers Report, and Personnel Policies were all approved

In Old Business it was said that the Bio-Diesel Plans to have a spokesman at the La Harpe City Hall next week on Tuesday the 17th to talk to the Mayor and other representatives regarding land, EPA, and WIRC with State and Federal Grants.

Roger Hughes reported that he has done some work on the alley behind where the building was torn down on Main Street.

Mayor Brown reported on meetings with WIRC in regards to a water main project that the city is working on.

New Business

Willo Shutwell, La Harpe ESDA Director, gave a report on a meeting she has attended in the last month.

She needs a list of historical buildings and their values, also she is also working with the county for a county-wide emergency plan

Dan Gillette reported on meetings he has had with the HCEDA., in regards to businesses, tourism, and getting young people in our county involved with future projects and businesses

Mayor Brown met with Senator John Sullivan, and Congressman Phil Hare at a town hall meeting in Carthage Saturday, March 7th.

The meeting was very informative about the stimulus package and creating jobs in Hancok County.

The meeting was adjourned until the next meeting, on March 23rd at 7:00 p.m..
