Village Of Raritan Meeting

The Village of Raritan trustees met in the meeting room of the Raritan Fire House Friday, June 12, 2009 with trustees Magee, Waller, Anders and Knapp answering roll call. Visitors were Dennis Rankin, Village Engineer and Jacque Winston from Ameren IP.

A motion was made by trustee Magee, seconded by trustee Wallace to approve the minutes. Motion carried.

Bills presented were as follows: Quill $13.11; Thompson Insurance $1,019.00; Dennis Rankin $233.75; Ameren IP $419.46; Waste Management $782.00; Dallas Rural Water $751.11; PDC Laboratories $14.50; IRWA $211.90; Phil Anders $84.00; Bank of Stronghurst $20.00; Jay Blender $600.00. A motion was made by trustee Anders, seconded by trustee Knapp to pay above bills carried.

Jacque Winston from Ameren IP stated that the current electric franchise expires July 29th, 2009.

A discussion followed about the increase cost to the village. She stated that Ameren IP could no longer donate electric service to communities.

A motion was made by trustee Magee to table Ordinance from Ameren IP until next meeting, seconded by trustee Knapp. Motion carried.

Dennis Rankin was present asking if the village wanted to purchase the PDC Laboratories Program Guard. Trustee Waller made a motion to go along with village engineers recommendation to not purchase, seconded by trustee Knapp. Motion carried.

President Knapp reported that Attorney Stombaugh is still working on the current legal matters.

A discussion was held about repairing the handicap ramp at the shelter house.

It was decided to go ahead and get it repaired.

A motion was made by trustee Knapp, seconded by trustee Anders to approve the Prevailing Wage Ordinance. Motion carried.

A motion was made by trustee Magee, seconded by trustee Anders and unanimous approval of the board the meeting was adjourned to the next regular meeting night. Motion carried.
