La Harpe City Council Is Seeking Police Help

The La Harpe City Council met for their regular meeting Monday, July 27, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. and discussed police employment needs for the city.

Two police officers have left the department and the Public Safety committee is receiving applications for a full time and part time city police officer, and are also seeking bids for a new squad car.

Motions were made and carried to accept the treasurer's report and pay all bills, hire Daniel Carpenter for the Water Operator position, replace the lift pumps for the sewer by the Housewright addition, approve Resolution # 2009-C (receive bids for the property on Main Street), and approve a ramp in front of Dobson apartments on a trial basis pending the city attorney's approval.

In other business:

Mayor Brown and the City Attorney are working with WIRC for the BIO-NRG plant.

Regular meeting adjourned at 7:35 p.m..
