Remembering A Friend And Colleague

Dear Editor,

I'm positive that I express the sentiments of the entire La Harpe community when I say that Hank Snyder was a great man and an inspiration to all who were privileged to have known him.

He was an integral part of so many civic and service organizations in La Harpe, and he didn't let personal misfortune keep him from actively contributing his considerable talents and gifts in every way, any time he was called upon to serve.

He was both loved and respected. I speak as one who served with him on the La Harpe Park District Board of Commissioners, and I can testify to his dedication and his generosity of spirit. Hank will be greatly missed.

Concern Over Judge Sotomayor's Nomination to the Supreme Court

Dear Editor,

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was recently interviewed by the New York Times concerning the nomination of Judge Sotomayor to the supreme court.

During the interview Justice Ginsburg said, "Frankly I had thought that at the time Roe was decided, there was concern about population growth and particularly growth in populations that we don't want to have too many of."

It appears that Justice Ginsburg shares the same racist views as the foundress of planned parenthood - Margaret Sanger!

Sincerely,
Galen D. Baxter
