La Harpe Council Met

La Harpe: All of the Village's Aldermen gathered for the January 12th La Harpe City Council meeting at 7:00 p.m. Monday.

The December minutes, and treasurers report and bills were approved, with Dan Gillett, Richard Rasmussen, Wayne Humphrey, Larry Finch, Darrell Kraft, Tim Graves, and Doug Endres looking on as guests.

Hunting lease renewals are up on village property, and there will be a meeting at Rasmussen's office on Wednesday, February 4th, at 4:30 p.m. to go over bids which are being advertised in this week's Quill.

Housewright Contracting bill for December, for tearing down the burned out building on Main street, was $11,595.66, bringing the total to date to $154,000.00, and the building isn't down yet.

A motion was made to pay the bill, and it passed with 5 Aldermen voting yes, and 1 Alderman voting no.

There will be a benefit for Erik Krekel in Carthage on January 18th, and a benefit for Jack Parrish at the La Harpe fire station on January 24th .

Alderman voted to donate a load of gravel for each benefit.

Independent candidate pre-filing petitions are available from the Lucretia McPeak City Clerk.

Council went into Executive session at 7:45 pm. and resumed open meeting at 8:12 p.m. with no action reported in the Council Minutes.
